I began quilting in 1995 when I retired from over 30 years of working for the state of North Carolina at the Western North Carolina Center (A center dedicated to the care of the metally handicapped). Quilting was a relaxing hobby which allowed me to use my creativity and imagination and also allowed me to make something that I could pass to my children and grand-children
After quilting for a couple of years I joined the Burke Quilters Guild in Morganton, North Carolina in 1999. The Guild held yearly shows for the benefit of displaying the guild members' works to the community. I entered my first quilt in the Guild show in 2000.
Since that time I have entered 6 Guild shows with 7 quilt works. The following are the awards for which I have graciously been recognized
